Our Personal Assistance Services (PAS) can help seniors maintain independence safely and within the comfort of their own home and community rather than institutional settings such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities. Seniors can develop quality relationships with their home health Attendants, who assist them with non-medical, health-related needs and daily activities. Whether you’re seeking short-term or long-term care, we can find the right services to meet your needs. Clients who are eligible can also receive full coverage for these services through Medicaid. Our team is ready to assist you and address any questions you may have. We are available by phone or in person to discuss your needs and provide information about our program and services.
Essential Home Health has been locally owned and operated since 1995 and has established itself with a reputation for providing high quality caregiver services with our mission of providing efficient, personal, professional and high quality care to all clients and their families. Our Attendants are hard working and dedicated to support and assist those who are aging, ill, disabled or recovering from health-related issues to live comfortably and safely in their own homes. We believe that each client we serve deserves to maintain their independence and dignity, and our aim is to provide excellent caregivers to care for your loved ones through companionship and support services that ensure our clients can live every day to the fullest.
The staff at Essential Home Health has made helping and caring for others in the community an everyday practice—a virtue passed down by owner Josie Alvarado, RN, BSN. Josie’s career has always involved caring for others. As one of the members of the first graduating class of Texas Tech University School of Nursing, her long career has given her the knowledge and experience to effectively and compassionately run a successful home health agency. “People walk in our office all the time with different needs—sometimes they need information about how to find a doctor for their health issues and sometimes they need help with their utilities. We often act as a community resource and match people to organizations in the community that can provide the service or assistance they need. We do more than offer traditional home health services”.

We provide frequent in-home evaluations and ongoing caregiver supervision to ensure we are providing the highest quality in-home care. Our care team is ready to help. Our Attendant services include:
Home management, cleaning, and laundry
Personal hygiene assistance (e.g. help with bathing, toileting, grooming, and dressing assistance)
Transfer and ambulation assistance throughout the home
Meal preparation, and assistance with eating
Medication reminders with self-administered medications
Companionship
Essential Home Health is licensed to operate home and community support services under the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. The agency accepts traditional Medicaid, Superior Health Plans Medicaid, and Wellpoint Medicaid.
